DataGuard is a ClassLink Roster Server upgrade that empowers schools to take control of the data they share with vendors. Instead of giving vendor partners all the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of your students and staff, share only essential data and mask all other key fields. DataGuard helps you minimize the security risks associated with data sharing because sensitive PII is always protected.

We recommend talking to your instructional team and vendor partners before using DataGuard. For example, some applications provide user reports for teachers and administrators. These reports use first and last names to make sense to the report reader. Talking to both instructional team members and your vendor partners will help you make wise choices about when to use DataGuard.
